Sunny Rear Garden in Surrey

Following a house renovation that moved the location of the back door, the layout of this beloved back garden no longer flowed well. The main driver was to ensure there was a great view out from the new kitchen doors, but we also realised that the shed was sat right where the morning sun was!

We moved the shed to create a morning patio, and draw the eye down the garden. To improve access into the garden and down to the dining area, we widened the paving by the house and created a sweeping gravel path. A large new bed balances the hard landscaping and frames the lawn, giving the plant loving owner more space to play with. A bespoke sculpture rehomed from a fellow designers RHS Malvern show garden creates a talking point amongst the frothy new grasses.
